Nature’s Subtle Quietness

There is a subtle quietness
on the eve of the autumn equinox
as nature takes her last inbreathe
inhaling all the abundance
and all the beauty
she has sown forth.

There is a subtle quietness
before she exhales
initiating the changing of the season
with leaves fluttering to the ground
and petals unfurling
for their last hurrah.

There is a subtle quietness
as the days get shorter
and nights get longer
calling us into
an inner embrace of silence
where all things
are quiet and at peace.

There is much to be learned
from nature’s subtle silence
between the in-breathe
and the out-breath
where all things
are transitioning
with ease and grace.

The one acting out
a persona projected upon me
by those around me.

The one playing the part
to maintain the status quo
to make others comfortable.

The one creating stories
to validate who I think
I should be.

The one fabricating excuses
when a simple “no thank you”
will do.

or . . .

Am I courageous enough
to step back from the drama
as the observer.

Am I courageous enough
to sit in the silence
no longer compelled to fill it.

Am I courageous enough
to surrender
all that others think I am.

Am I courageous enough
to simply be
true to Who I Am.

Gentle Sweetness to Life

The human
who has been conditioned
to living in duality
is always seeking
something more
to push beyond their limits
to attain more success
to experience more drama
only to crash and burn
as the pendulum swings
in the opposite direction.

Even spirituality
has one on a path
of constantly seeking
more of themselves
expansion of the I Am
attainment of a higher path
the expression of goodness
eradication of darkness
an escalation of the light
a more explosive
orgasmic experience.

Between the excessive
swings of the pendulum
there is a zero point
a stillness
a silence
a point of balance
a sense of harmony
when we pause
and take a breath
the extremes
of the pendulum cease.

When we
abandon the search
of reaching outside ourselves
when we listen and abide
by our innate rhythms
a sublime pleasure
sweeps through us
and at our core
we discover
there is a gentle
sweetness to life.

Depth of Listening

The pitter patter of words
at times they are
the expression of who we are
what we are feeling
what we are experiencing.

At other times
they constrict us
from expanding
beyond the mind
where there are no words.

Consider your words
use them wisely
simplify when speaking to those
who do not speak
your spiritual language.

Maintain the silence
when there is more to offer
than mere words
for in the silence
the depth of listening heals all.

The sound of our of words
carry great power
and….
the lack of words
can be equally as powerful.

get still and listen
to the gentle beating of your heart
the rhythm of your breath
the essence of your inner being

all of you Home
