Emotional turmoil
is the result of
our own expectations
Expectations of
those we love
family and friends
government leaders
religion and spirituality
Most importantly
the expectations
of our own self
for our own self
Whereas, our Soul
is always at peace
free of any expectations
experiencing life
as it presents itself
grateful for every moment
with an ever expanding
passion for life
There is no dark night
of the Soul
There is only
the dark night of the human
embroiled in its own expectations
before it awakens to the freedom
and true passion of the Soul.
